Brief description:

Kiera is in a dark place. Her marriage failed, her mother took her own life, and she is on her way to visit old friends who will help her get out of the depression that has plagued her off and on.

Changing planes in Dallas, she finds herself held up by a storm. A stranger approaches as she sits sipping coffee in a crowded airport snack bar. A seat at her table is free, and he asks if her might join her. Ben is a pilot, an Air Force officer on his way home to visit his mother.

Ben has also gone through some struggles and when they discover that they are on the same connecting flight to San Diego, with a couple of hours to kill, they start sharing things about themselves, and things get quite interesting as they embark on a voyage of discovery about each other, and about themselves.
